Trolling Motor Shaft Length Comparison: 60" Minn Kota vs. 57" Garmin Force, how far do they sit in the water?

Trolling Motor Shaft Length Comparison: 60" Minn Kota vs. 57" Garmin Force, how far do they sit in the water?

If you're in the market for a new trolling motor, you might be wondering how the 57" Garmin Force stacks up compared to a 60" Minn Kota shaft length.

We took the measurements and here are the results.

Garmin Force 57" bottom of base plate to center of prop shaft: 44.5 inches
Minn Kota Ulterra 60" bottom of base plate to center of prop shaft: 52 inches

Overall the Force is actually 7.5 inches shorter when mounted on your boat.

Rumor is that Garmin will be releasing a longer shaft length on their Force models but I can't confirm if this is true or not. Hopefully we will see the longer shaft length in the future for you guys running these bigger Deep V Walleye boats. 🤞
