Do you guys offer boat winterization on inboards or sterndrives?
We're not well equipped to tackle these winterizations so we don't offer it.
What should be done at a minimum to winterize my boat or pontoon?
Your lower unit oil should be checked for water, all water should be drained from your motor, livewell and bilge lines need to be clear of water, fuel should be stabilized, and batteries should be fully charged and disconnected.
How should I store my marine batteries during the winter months, do I need to pull them from my boat?
This depends if you have deep cycle or lithium.
We recommend charging your deep cycle batteries to full and then at minimum disconnecting them.
Per Interstate Batteries: "Batteries stored in a discharged state are susceptible to freezing in cold weather and sulfation. A fully charged battery will not freeze unless the temperature reaches approximately 75° F (24° C) below zero. But if discharged, it can freeze at 15° F (-9° C)."
For lithium batteries, follow the manufacturer guidelines. Amped Outdoors recommends putting a 50% charge and store in a cool, dry, place. We recommend charging, disconnecting, removing from your boat and store inside to protect your investment.
Do you guys offer storage at your facility?
Storage is offered at the same location as our shop through Lifestyle Storage. You will need to get a hold of them to check on availability or inquiries.
